Assistant Professor in Physics/Engineering Physics

The Physics and Engineering Physics Department invites applications for a fixed-term assistant professor. Juniata College is a selective liberal arts college of 1300 students located in Huntingdon, PA. The Department offers bachelor’s degrees in Physics, and Engineering Physics, and graduates an average of ten students per year.

We are seeking candidates vitally interested in teaching undergraduate courses for both majors and non-majors, including upper division lecture and laboratory courses. Appointment is open to strong candidates who can support and build upon our curriculum in the areas of physics, astronomy and engineering physics. Our primary selection criterion will be the promise of outstanding teaching with the expectation that excellent teaching presumes an active scholarly agenda. Candidates of any research focus will have the opportunity to support student growth through involvement in research projects.

Position Qualifications:
• Ph.D. in Physics, Applied Physics, Astronomy, Astrophysics or related area
• Strong interest in undergraduate instruction and desire to work collaboratively in a student-focused department
• Prefer at least 1-3 years teaching experience
