The Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) Program at the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory is an exciting 10-week summer program for college students interested in a career in science! During this program, students work with MagLab mentors on an in-depth research project at one of the following two MagLab locations: Florida State University (Tallahassee, FL) or University of Florida (Gainesville, FL).

The MagLab REU program offers a wide range of research experiences in physics, chemistry, biological sciences, geochemistry, materials science and magnet science and engineering. In addition to the research, students also participate in weekly seminars and colloquia that broaden their knowledge of MagLab research and future careers. Participants will receive a $6,500 stipend for their participation in the program that is given in two increments during the summer months. Housing is provided through the program should you need it. (We cannot reimburse housing costs that are not through our program.) We can also provide up to $800 in travel support for participants to come to the MagLab on the first day of the program and to return home on the last day of the program. This program is funded by the National Science Foundation.

The Summer 2025 program dates are May 27th – August 1st. To learn more and to apply, visit the following link – https://nationalmaglab.org/education/college-students/reu/. The application deadline is January 10, 2025.
