Tenure Track Assistant Professor of Physics

The Department of Physics at Lafayette College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor to join the department beginning in the 2025-2026 academic year.

We are seeking candidates with a demonstrated enthusiasm for undergraduate teaching, a commitment to creative instruction in a variety of settings, and the ability to meaningfully involve students in scholarly research in an undergraduate college environment. The successful candidate will be able to teach physics effectively at all levels of the undergraduate curriculum. The Search Committee is particularly interested in individuals who can communicate effectively with groups of undergraduates having a variety of interests, backgrounds and career aspirations. Enthusiasm for teaching physics-related first-year or interdisciplinary seminars would be a plus.

The position is open to any field of physics. Candidates must be able to develop and maintain a vigorous research program that is accessible and engaging for undergraduates and that enriches the opportunities available for our students. Qualifications

A Ph.D. in physics, astronomy, or a related field by August 2025 is required.
