Job Description
The University of Missouri Research Reactor Center (MURR) has an opening for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position. MURR is the largest neutron source (10MW) on a US campus and is well-suited for neutron scattering research. It currently operates 4 instruments: a triple-axis spectrometer, a reflectometer, and two powder diffractometers.

Primary Responsibilities:

The successful candidate is expected to enhance the MURR neutron scattering program by contributing to ongoing and emerging neutron scattering research projects and to assist in the upkeep and maintenance of the MURR scattering instruments. There will be room for independent research that utilizes the instruments and capabilities at MURR.

Qualifications
Candidates are expected to have a PhD in physics, chemistry or materials science by start of the appointment.

Candidates will be evaluated on:

• Strong background in neutron scattering

• Scientific qualifications

• Experience with neutron scattering hardware

• Ability to communicate effectively

• Strong communication skills and ability to work as a team
