SUNY Old Westbury
Theoretical Physics Joint Postdoc at SUNY Old Westbury and Brookhaven National Lab
The theoretical physics group at SUNY Old Westbury (SUNY OW) and the Nuclear Theory Group at Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) welcome applications for a 3-year joint postdoctoral position.
The position is funded by the Department of Energy grant “Novel Holographic Approaches to the Non-perturbative Dynamics of Proton Spin.” The Principal Investigator (PI) is Andrew O’Bannon, with SUNY OW co-PIs John Estes and Matthew Lippert and BNL co-PI Raju Venugopalan.
The postdoctoral candidate will be employed by SUNY, however the postdoctoral candidate’s time will be shared between SUNY OW and BNL. BNL will also support, in part, the incumbent’s housing and travel expenses.
Candidates should have a strong background in formal Quantum Field Theory methods and their applications to problems in high energy and nuclear physics.
Application deadline: February 10, 2025
