William I. Fine Theoretical Physics Institute

The School of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, invites applications for two professorial appointments at the William I. Fine Theoretical Physics Institute (FTPI). Candidates with distinguished scholarly accomplishments in condensed matter and high-energy physics, broadly understood, will be considered. The University of Minnesota has strong and well-supported theoretical condensed matter and high-energy physics groups pursuing topics in various subfields of physics.

The appointment is expected to be at the tenured faculty level (qualified applicants who are current assistant professors would be hired with tenure). The FTPI affiliation typically provides additional research opportunities through a reduced teaching load. The start date for this position is negotiable.

Qualifications:

Ph.D. in physics or related field. Must have established a vigorous and significant research program and leadership qualities in their area as evidenced by their publication record and supporting letters from recognized leaders in the field. The ability to teach physics effectively at both the graduate and undergraduate levels is required. The candidate should be dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment.
